Winter arrived in full force in time to cancel the Winter Festival scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5.

YOUTH NEWS/ NOTICIAS DE LOS JOVENES
We hope you are making plans to go to Youth Camp in Sacramento.
The fee for camp is $265 and the deadline to turn it in is June 20th, so, Please turn in the registration forms by June 14th. If you do not know what your balance is or if you need the forms, please call Elizabeth Flores (512-567-9233).
Youth Camp will be from July 20-25 at Sacramento Methodist Assembly in New Mexico.
We (the pastor and the choirs) are so very blessed with the leadership of Beth Barton who has been our Director of Music since mid-April!! God bless you and thank you, Beth!! We sang a new anthem on Pentecost (with an encore on Trinity Sunday), "Fill a Me Up"! The Spanish Choir with several Cantata choir members have been singing some inspiring anthems in Spanish the past few weeks! Join us at 10:25 am on Sundays to practice. The Cantata Choir shared anthems from the Resurrection Cantata each of the Sundays during the season of Resurrection. You added so much to our worship!! Thanks!! Beth is looking for trios, solos, and duets to sing/play for the offertory during the summer. Consider worshiping God this way and let her know what you can do. The Children's Choir will practice June 14 and 21 at 10:50 to prepare their special for Father's Day. The choir practices at 10:25 am and 4:30 pm on Sundays. Come join us in worshiping God with your joyful noise!
The Youth will have their Cinco de Mayo luncheon fundraiser after the
service on May 2. Come out and support our youth as they raise money to go to camp and enjoy the good food as we celebrate our heritage!
Welcome Beth Barton
We want to bless God for our new Director of Music, Mrs. Beth Barton, wife of Dr. Paul Barton, and former Director of Music from 2002 to 2005. Beth is very gifted, sensitive to the Spirit, committed, and a good communicator. We look forward to her contributions to and her leadership of our ministry of music!

The Cantata Choir (those who are present) will be sharing the anthems from the Cantata one per week during the season of Resurrection. We pray they will bless you as much as they have blessed us!
We give thanks to God for Linda Ann Osoria filling in as our Cantata Choir Director and for the great job she did. We want to extend a big welcome to Beth Barton who has accepted the position of Director of Music effective April 15. She haas been helping us with the Cantata practices for the past month. Las Mujeres Metodistas celebraron un Programa de Membresia, dirigido por Odilia Trevino, el 21 de Febrero. Asistieron 27 Mujeres y se recibieron 2 nuevos miembros. Despues de el programa, se tuvo un sabroso "brunch" y un tiempo de companerismo.
Marie Mercado, la Tesorera, presento el programa del Banquito Mundial el 7 de Marzo.
El dia 8 de Marzo, durante el servicio dominical, las Mujeres celebramos el "Enfasis Femenil', un programa especial presentado en cada iglesia metodista por la Unidad local de Mujeres para celebrar el Mes Internacional de la Mujer. El programa fue dirigido por la Presidenta, Mary Gonzales, y se levanto una ofrenda especial que las Mujeres enviaran a la Conferencia para becas de los estudiantes.
El 4 de Abril se tendra una junta de negocios en la que estaremos planeando el Banquete de Madre e Hija (hermana, amiga, etc.), que se celebrara el 9 de Mayo. Detalles mas concretos acerca de la hora, el lugar y el costo se estaran anunciando en el boletin.
Invitamos a todas las Mujeres de la congregacion al programa "Los Alimentos y la Fe", el proximo 25 de Abril, a las 10am en Jackson Hall. El proposito del programa es:
Reconocer que la pobreza esta presente tambien en nuestra comunidad,
Reflexionar sobre la manera en que nuestra fe afecta todo lo que somos y hacemos,
Estimular un cambio en nuestro compromiso con el projimo.
Otro grupo de nuestra iglesia visita un "trailer park" para llevar alimentos. Por medio de este Programa, presentado por un grupo de Hermanas dirigidas por Diana Guevara, animamos a todas las que asistan a traer bolsas de arroz, frijol, harina,etc. para llevar al "trailer park". Ya estaremos dando mas informacion en el boletin dominical.

We will continue to conduct the Sunday school perfect attendance contest throughout the month of April as well. We give thanks to our Sunday school teachers and their willingness to serve the Lord and our church.
Invite-a-Friend
In our continued effort to increase attendance at Sunday school, we will also be conducting the “Invite-a-Friend” campaign. Every Sunday school member is being asked to bring just one other person with him/her to Sunday school each Sunday in April. We know you can do it! By just bringing one friend with you, we will increase attendance significantly.
We would also ask for your continued prayer in our efforts to increase attendance at Sunday school.
We invite you to join us for Lenten Bible Study tomorrow (Wednesday) evening at 6:30 (dinner at 5:30 pm) Yolanda Munguia is leading us in a study of "Learning from the Mistakes of the Disciples". It has been very edifying! Join us!

Dear Emmanuel Family/ Querida familia de Emmanuel,
We were blessed with 13 guests for worship last Lord's Day/Sunday that brought our attendance to 119 during spring break! There was a good spirit in the service and several testimonies for which we give thanks to God. We hope to gather with you around the Table of the Lord this Lord's Day/Sunday! It will be One Great Hour of Sharing/ Una Gran Hora de Compartir. The special offering goes for our support of regions hit by disasters here in the USA or in the world during the year! I will preach an evangelistic sermon on Numbers 21:4-9, Ephesians 2:1-10, and John 3:14-21 entitled "You have no ladder/ No tienes escalera". Invite a friend or associate who needs to give their life to Christ or to rededicate their life to Christ!

Dear Emmanuel Family/ Muy estimada familia de Emmanuel,
We were so blessed by Trevin Richardson's testimony concerning the impact of the Lord on him through the Youth Rally! We were also blessed by the great Lenten Bible Study on Tuesday morning at Cordelia Ruiz' home! Twelve were in attendance! The Lenten Bible Study on Learning from the Disciples' Mistakes led by Yolanda Munguia was challenging. We were glad to have Alfredo Cantu with us again and Hector and Rhonda for the first time!! The Friday Night Lenten Bible Study will be tomorrow (Friday) night at 7:00 pm at the parsonage/ casa pastoral, 1707 Taylor Gaines St. (78741). Leticia Estavillo will lead the bible study on "The Mind of Christ " (Philippians 2:1-11) in my absence. Please pray for me as I travel to Bryan, Texas to minister to the Tillie Picazo family. Her adult son, Joel, died on Monday.
Let us also pray for the family of Martin Gonzales' nephew, Rene Hernandez as his father died early this week as well.
Let us pray for the Esparza family as Roy, Esthers' son and Alice Esparza's uncle died yesterday!
I look forward to worshiping you around the Table of the Lord this Lord's Day/Sunday. I will be preaching on "Everything's backwards/ Todo esta al reves" from Mark 9:31-38 and Genesis 17:1-7. We will have some more fresh testimonies of what God is doing so I will look for you on Sunday!
