Pastor Dobb's Farewell Dinner

Dear Emmanuel Brothers & Sisters,

On June 26, 2010, the church gathered in the Jackson Hall for a farewell for Pastor Dobbs and his family. Amy Phillips and Hope Rodriguez worked tremendously hard in making sure the "spread" was both elegant and inviting to all who attended. The hall was packed with Emmanuel members, as well as individuals that were greatly impacted by Pastor Dobbs' tenure at this church (i.e., homeless, outside ministry members, former church members, and many others). The entertainment was a mix of special songs from our own children, choir members, and individuals. There were many testimonies and words of appreciation, as well. There were so many others that helped make this special event so successful and memorable. May God bless all who attended and those that could not attend. The Dobbs family will be greatly missed!

Emmanuel was blessed to receive their new pastor in July. Reverend Eduardo Garcia and his family moved in to the parsonage on July 1st. Meals and snacks were prepared and left at the parsonage for their enjoyment and convenience. There were several of the church members that were there to greet and help with the move.

A welcome covered dish was held on Sunday, July 11, 2010, in the Jackson Hall. Many members attended and enjoyed spending time with Rev. Garcia and his family.

May God bless Rev. Garcia and make him a strong spiritual leader so that he may accomplish God's will in our church.

Farewell

To God be the Glory
St. Paul wrote to the Colossians about our Lord Jesus Christ saying in Colossians 1:17-18,
He is before all things . In Him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

Andrae Crouch wrote in a song several years ago, "How can I say thanks for the things you have done for me? For the things so undeserved yet you did to prove your love for me...To God be the glory!"

Thank you for the way you have supported me and us over the last six months! It has been a hard and challenging road! Thanks and thanks for your prayers!

We of Emmanuel have grown in several ways over the past ten years ! Thanks be to God! We still have a way to go but thanks be to God, He is not finished with us yet! God will continue to guide Emmanuel so that it will make an even greater impact for the Kingdom of God in Austin!

Please continue to pray for us! We will continue to pray for you and for the Rev. Edward García who will come to pastor you.

I pray we will have the opportunity to say "Until later/Hasta luego" to most of you personally over the next three weeks. To God be the glory! May God bless you to be a blessing to someone else!

Your pastor and brother in Christ,

the Rev. Michael Dobbs B.

¡Gracias a Dios!

Michael Dobbs B.
