We (the pastor and the choirs) are so very blessed with the leadership of Beth Barton who has been our Director of Music since mid-April!! God bless you and thank you, Beth!! We sang a new anthem on Pentecost (with an encore on Trinity Sunday), "Fill a Me Up"! The Spanish Choir with several Cantata choir members have been singing some inspiring anthems in Spanish the past few weeks! Join us at 10:25 am on Sundays to practice. The Cantata Choir shared anthems from the Resurrection Cantata each of the Sundays during the season of Resurrection. You added so much to our worship!! Thanks!! Beth is looking for trios, solos, and duets to sing/play for the offertory during the summer. Consider worshiping God this way and let her know what you can do. The Children's Choir will practice June 14 and 21 at 10:50 to prepare their special for Father's Day. The choir practices at 10:25 am and 4:30 pm on Sundays. Come join us in worshiping God with your joyful noise!

We give thanks to God for Natalie Ruiz, Gilberto Ramos, Elias Garcia, and Fred Garcia Salaiz who professed their faith in Christ on Pentecost Sunday! I can see their sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and I give thanks to God for their committement and their gifts! Welcome; Natalie, Elias, Gilberto, and Fred to the Body of Christ and to Emmanuel UMC!
We also give thanks to God for Dora Ancira who transferred her membership to Emmanuel on the same day. She transfers her membership from Govalle UMC. Welcome, Dora!!

Las Mujeres Metodistas celebramos el Banquete anual de Madre e Hija el sabado 9 de Mayo
en Jackson Hall. Una asistencia de 101 se deleito con el muy bonito programa presentado
por la Vice-Presidenta Dora Ancira. Nuestra Oradora fue la Hna. Raquel Mariscal, y ella
nos trajo una interesante platica acerca de el trabajo que se hace por todo el mundo por
medio de las ofrendas que las Mujeres Metodistas mandamos para las misiones. La Hna. Ruth Alvirez y su hija Mary interpretaron un hemoso himno, acompanadas al piano por la Hna. Beth Barton. Brittany Osoria nos deleito con una bonita cancion mexicana. Se otorgaron dos prendedores de reconocimiento. El primero a Gary Willems por su trabajo en los jardines
de la Iglesia, y el segundo a Alice Esparza por su dedicacion al ministerio de los ninos.
Laura Mercado presento un prendedor a la Hna. Olga Dobbs, en agradecimiento por todos sus esfuerzos para ayudar y aconsejar y ensenar a la Juventud. Despues de el programa, gozamos de una sabrosa comida servida por la Hna. Denise Guerrero. Damos gracias a Dios por este hermoso grupo de hermanas que asistieron.
En la junta de Abril, se decidio hacer una donacion a los Jovenes para su viaje al
campamento. La Tesorera, Marie Mercado, hara entrega de un cheque de $200.00 a los consejeros, Daniel y Elizabeth Flores. Tambien se donaron $100.00 para el programa de Kyros, por medio del cual Mary y Martin Gonzalez, junto con un grupo de otras iglesias, asisten y llevan la palabra de Dios los presos. Seguimos con el ministerio de visitacion. Hay
tanta necesidad en nuestra Iglesia y, con la ayuda de Dios, seguiremos haciendo este
esfuerzo los martes por la manana.
El 25 de Abril Diana Guevara dirigio un programa titulado "Los Alimentos y la Fe".
Tuvimos una asistencia de 21 Hermanas que participaron. Las Hermanas Ruth Alvirez,
Socorro Ancira, Beatriz Rios y Odilia Trevino tomaron parte en la dramatizacion y las
Hermanas Carmen Alvarado, Nicolasa Pena y Noemi Gonzalez leyeron las Escrituras.
Despues de el programa especial, nos deleitamos en un delicioso "Brunch".
La proxima junta sera el sabado 6 de Junio. Dora Ancira esta a cargo del programa especial.
Tendremos una venta de segundo/Garage Sale y Almuerzo (plato de desayuno y menudo) el 27 de junio de las 7:00 am hasta las 12:00 md.
La Escuela de Misiones se llevara a cabo en Kerrville, Julio 24 al 26. El Dia de la Juventud
se celebrara el Domingo 26 de Julio en el servicio matutino.

Homeless Service And Meal Is Reaching Out

Tienen Vivienda esta alcanzando a nueva gente!!
We give thanks to God for the Service and Meal for the Homeless that has been meeting on our parking lot now for two months. The service is from 1:00 to 2:00 (more or less) each Saturday. The service is headed by Pastor Thomas from Shoreline East Ministry. Our praise band is playing each fourth Saturday and Yolanda Munguia and others who attend our Wednesday Bible Study help prepare and serve the food every other month. Peter Gus and Garland David who attend that service now attend our serfvices too. Bobbie Smith from Emmanuel connected us with this ministry and we give thanks to God for her!! Join us any Saturday for a great time of praise, worship, Word, prayer ministry,and fellowship! The Kingdom is being expanded and God is being glorified!
Welcoming Luncheon For Pastor And Family/ Comida De Bienvenida Para El Pastor Y Su Familia
The SPRC committee is pleased to announce that Pastor Michael and Olga Dobbs will be returning for another blessed year at Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
In celebration of their continuing assignment, EUMC will be having a "Welcome Back" cover dish luncheon on June 14th after services.
The church will provide the meaty main course and respectively ask that all bring sides for the lunch.
Come one, come all to celebrate another fruitful year with our beloved Dobbs family.

CHURCH PICNIC A GREAT TIME OF FELLOWSHIP! / ¡DIA DE CAMPO UN GRAN TIEMPO DE COMPA--ERISMO!
Sixty seven gathered at the Polo Tables at Zilker Park on June 7 for our second annual picnic. The barbecue chicken and sausage with all the trimmings were delicious but greater still were the connections made between families and with new persons attending our worship services. The kids enjoyed the face painting and the huge moon walk and the adults and teens enjoyed the DJ and lotería.
Many thanks to Danny Flores, Family co-coordinator, for organizing this fun and edifying event.
Many thanks also to Maurice Rodriguez for cooking the food and Randy Ruiz for assisting in the set up and breakdown.
Sesenta y siete personas asistieron al dÌa de campo en el parquet Zilker cerca de las mesas de Polo para nuestro segundo día de campo. El pollo asado y los salchichones estaban deliciosos con todos los platillos laterales pero más rico todavía fue el compaeñrismo y las conexiones que se hicieron entre las familias y con personas que recien han comenzado a adorar con nosotros. A los niños les encantó que pintara a sus caras y disfrutaron también al brincolín gigantesco. Los adultos y los júvenes disfrutaron a las música y al juego de lotería.
Mil gracias a Danny Flores, el cocoordinador de familia, por haber organizado
a este evento divertido y edificador.
