Welcome Beth Barton
We want to bless God for our new Director of Music, Mrs. Beth Barton, wife of Dr. Paul Barton, and former Director of Music from 2002 to 2005. Beth is very gifted, sensitive to the Spirit, committed, and a good communicator. We look forward to her contributions to and her leadership of our ministry of music!

The Cantata Choir (those who are present) will be sharing the anthems from the Cantata one per week during the season of Resurrection. We pray they will bless you as much as they have blessed us!
We give thanks to God for Linda Ann Osoria filling in as our Cantata Choir Director and for the great job she did. We want to extend a big welcome to Beth Barton who has accepted the position of Director of Music effective April 15. She haas been helping us with the Cantata practices for the past month. Welcome, Beth!
The Shoreline East Homeless Ministry is now having their weekly worship service and meal for the homeless on the 3rd St. side of our parking lot from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Some of our members are supporting this ministry and participating in it including the pastor. About 25 to 40 (plus 25 to 30 of the ministry team) are gathering to worship and praise God and invite others to follow Jesus. We always minister in prayer to those who attend and all stay for the meal and time of fellowship.
Please pray for this ministry and join us to observe, worship, serve, and minister.
We give thanks to God for the incisive and prophetic Bible Study on What we Can Learn from the Disciples' Mistakes led by Yolanda Munguia that has just concluded! I anticipate the next study on Kingdom People? Pueblo del Reino by Drs. James B. and Molly David Scott led by Pastor Dobbs will be just as incisive and edifying. It is a 13 week study on discipleship that will begin on April 22. Join us to follow our Lord Jesus more nearly and to love him more dearly!

Las Mujeres Metodistas celebraron un Programa de Membresia, dirigido por Odilia Trevino, el 21 de Febrero. Asistieron 27 Mujeres y se recibieron 2 nuevos miembros. Despues de el programa, se tuvo un sabroso "brunch" y un tiempo de companerismo.
Marie Mercado, la Tesorera, presento el programa del Banquito Mundial el 7 de Marzo.
El dia 8 de Marzo, durante el servicio dominical, las Mujeres celebramos el "Enfasis Femenil', un programa especial presentado en cada iglesia metodista por la Unidad local de Mujeres para celebrar el Mes Internacional de la Mujer. El programa fue dirigido por la Presidenta, Mary Gonzales, y se levanto una ofrenda especial que las Mujeres enviaran a la Conferencia para becas de los estudiantes.
El 4 de Abril se tendra una junta de negocios en la que estaremos planeando el Banquete de Madre e Hija (hermana, amiga, etc.), que se celebrara el 9 de Mayo. Detalles mas concretos acerca de la hora, el lugar y el costo se estaran anunciando en el boletin.
Invitamos a todas las Mujeres de la congregacion al programa "Los Alimentos y la Fe", el proximo 25 de Abril, a las 10am en Jackson Hall. El proposito del programa es:
Reconocer que la pobreza esta presente tambien en nuestra comunidad,
Reflexionar sobre la manera en que nuestra fe afecta todo lo que somos y hacemos,
Estimular un cambio en nuestro compromiso con el projimo.
Otro grupo de nuestra iglesia visita un "trailer park" para llevar alimentos. Por medio de este Programa, presentado por un grupo de Hermanas dirigidas por Diana Guevara, animamos a todas las que asistan a traer bolsas de arroz, frijol, harina,etc. para llevar al "trailer park". Ya estaremos dando mas informacion en el boletin dominical.

Jesus told satan we do not live by bread alone but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4) Emmanuel knows how to put on a good banquet, meal, or fiesta! We know how to make good bread, tortillas, or capirotada (for example on Ash Wednesday!).
This Lent we have had a veritable banquet of the Word that comes from the mouth of God! The Tuesday morning (in Spanish) and Friday evening Lenten studies on "Living with the Mind of Christ" (based on Philippians 2:1-11) and the Wesnesday night Lenten Study on "Learning from the Disciples' Mistakes" have really helped me be molded by the Word of God. I know this has been the expereince of some of you, as well! Truly, the Word of God is transforming!
The sermons on Sunday have invited us to go deeper in our discipleship -- to deny ourselves, the pick up our cross daily, and to follow Jesus. Those involved in the Discipleship Group and in Disciple III have also been diving deeper into the Word as have those in the Adult Sunday School Classes! The Word is impacting us and the Christian conversations and testimonies around the Word are deepening
our intimacy and fellowship! To God be the glory! The weekly banquet (Communion) around the Lord's Table during Lent has also fed us and graced us! If you are not taking advantage of a forum for studying the Scriptures, I invite you to avail yourself of one of those mentioned above. Allow the Holy Spirit to mold you more into the image of Jesus through study of the Word! God bless you this Holy Week and season of Resurrection to be a blessing to someone in your path!

Sabemos hacer pan rico, tortillas caseras, y capirotada (por ejemplo en el miÈrcoles de ceniza). °Esta cuaresma ha sido un verdadero banquete de la Palabra que procede de la Boca de Dios! Los estudios de cuaresma del martes por la maÒana (en espaÒol) y del viernes por la tarde acerca del tema ìViviendo con el Sentir que hubo en Cristoî (basado en Filipenses 2:1-11) y el estudio del miÈrcoles acerca de ìAprendiendo de los Errores de los DiscÌpulosî me han ayudado ser moldeado por la palabra de Dios. Yo sÈ que esto ha sido la experiencia de algunos de ustedes tambiÈn. °Verdaderamente, el estudio de la Palabra de Dios es transformador! Los sermones del domingo nos han invitado profundizarnos en nuestro discipulado--. Los que participan en el grupo del discipluado, en el estudio ìDiscÌpulo IIIî, y en las clases dominicales de los adultos tambien se han profundizado en la palabra de Dios. La Palabra nos est· impactando y las conversaciones cristianas y los testimonios acerca de la Palabra est·n fomentando mayor compaÒerismo Ìntimo entre nosotros. °A Dios sea la gloria! de los adultos tambiÈn se han profundizado en la palabra de Dios.
